在第三段的第六行有一句:
Not a single pebble was found that might have indicated that the pebbles came from the nearby continent.
而這一段句子又對應到其中一題(答案為A):
一開始我錯誤的解讀成Not a single pebble was found這件事/might have indicated /that the pebbles came from the nearby continent這件事. (沒有一個單一的pebble被找到? 暗示著這些石頭來自鄰近的大陸)
於是就選了錯的選項D
一開始一直無法理解A為甚麼是正確答案,後來看了許久才重新理解:
Not a single pebble was found/(形容詞子句) that might have indicated/(補語) that the pebbles came from the nearby continent.
甚麼樣的single pebble沒被找到? -> The pebble that might have indicated that the pebbles came from the nearby continent
所以其實這句可能是這樣:
Not a single pebble that might have indicated that the pebbles came from the nearby continent was found.
如果是這樣寫那上面我的重新理解就說得通了,也就跟選項A意思相近。
只是我沒看過可以將was found往前移,修飾語接在後面的這種寫法,一般修飾語都是緊接在修飾對象後面? 謝謝。
